About us
Rethink Your Career in Healthcare
More than a Job, a Career with Purpose.
PFAS services
Nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists (and other registered clinicians) provide services on behalf of the UK Government’s Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). Together, our clinicians support 35,000 people each year.
We gather assessments and create a report for the DWP whose case managers then make an opinion on each claimant’s eligibility. This falls within the DWP’s Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).
We want to be the UK’s most trusted provider of PIP assessments — known for clinical excellence, outstanding service, and a team that leads with care, respect, and professionalism.
We are based in various clinics, mostly around the Southeast of the UK including Redhill, Eastbourne, Brighton, Great Yarmouth, Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Ipswich, and Colchester as well as Croydon. We also have colleagues undertaking a mixture of onsite and home working.
“We want work to be a place where you form great relationships, have a great impact, and most importantly build a great career. By looking after the details, we’ve made PFAS a place where you can really maximise your professional potential.”
Melissa Scobie - PFAS Managing Director
PFAS nursing jobs and pay
PFAS jobs for registered clinicians (you might be a nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, or paramedic) require you to speak with members of the public who have claimed for Personal Independence Payments (known as PIP) because through disability, illness or other conditions they are unable to work or lead a life that functions without impact. PFAS offers Functional Assessor jobs for nurses in locations across the UK.
PFAS Functional Assessor (PIP) jobs
Functional Assessors at PFAS support over 35,000 claimants each year. You will be working autonomously, holding consultations and composing fair, balanced, respectful and non-biased reports. Your role is to interview claimants in a sympathetic way so that you can fully understand the challenges they face.
We don’t just offer roles, we offer long-term careers where your clinical expertise, empathy and judgement matter every single day.
“The assessor was very friendly, very clear, helpful and respectful.”
PFAS Claimant
PFAS jobs for nurses
We hire qualified nurses for jobs at PFAS so that they can use their clinical skills to become Functional Assessors. We are looking for nurses with a proven experience of working within a medical background.
Real clinical impact Your expertise genuinely matters. Our clinicians:
- Use their skills in a new, meaningful way
- Support people through important life decisions
- Work in structured, professional environments
- Make a difference without burnout culture
PFAS jobs for occupational therapists and physiotherapists
As well as nurses, we also hire qualified chartered physiotherapists and qualified occupational therapists. To qualify, OTs and physios must be a member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) or a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT’s (COT).
Why you should choose a career with PFAS
We are one of the UK’s leading providers of functional assessments and disability analyses for the DWP. We pride ourselves on our clinical quality and team support. You will be joining an organisation that is highly attentive to delivering quality care.
We believe that our jobs for nurses at PFAS (and occupational therapists and physiotherapists) offer a real opportunity for change in career direction. This is not a typical nursing or healthcare job. The hours are clear; your days are bookended; you can count on colleagues and management support.
Use your clinical expertise in a different way. Have meaningful, structured conversations. Work in a supportive environment.
Proper support from Day One.
You’re not thrown in at the deep end.
- Comprehensive training programme
- Professional subscription subsidies to support your training
- Experienced clinical leadership
- A team that actually responds
We invest in you and support you.
“One of the things I really value about PFAS is how open the opportunities are. As the company continues to grow and the teams expand, new roles are being created to support that growth. It’s not just about waiting for someone to leave in order to move up. If you can demonstrate your ability and your willingness to learn, there are real opportunities to progress – and for me, that’s been a big, big plus.””
PFAS Functional Assessor, Jermaine
And, importantly, you remain a clinician and healthcare professional in a job that will continue to call upon your clinical experience and skills and knowledge. Some of our clinicians choose to work from home, while others choose to work onsite full-time. If you wish to work from home, you will conduct assessment by telephone or video call.
“Your employee experience matters to us. We want everyone to feel supported and happy at work. I am passionate about creating an environment where all colleagues can thrive. I ensure that each and every colleague is heard, treated fairly and feels safe to raise concerns confidentially, my virtual door is always open!”
Julia Meckael-Jennings - Colleague Wellbeing Lead

“After spending time as a nurse within the NHS, Katie swapped the wards for the WCA contract 15 years ago. Since then, she’s held a range of clinical roles, building deep, hands-on assessment expertise. Now actively upskilling and training to undertake PIP assessments, Katie stays fully abreast of current assessment standards, using that insight to better support colleagues and strengthen clinical quality across the business!”
Katie Smith - Head of Clinical Governance and Assurance
“With 20 years as a registered nurse and working as an assessor, CSL, ACM and performance manager, this experience gives her a sharp eye for quality, compliance and capability. Alana’s focused on helping the people she works with reach their full potential.”
