About Mariposa Care Group

Mariposa Care Group encompasses eight elderly care homes and two specialist mental health care homes across the country, with facilities currently in Oxfordshire, County Durham, Leeds, Middlesborough, Carlisle and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Our dedicated team of 600 (and growing) includes nurses, managers, carers and support staff.

We could not do what we do without our team. From Clinical Care Practitioners to Nurses and Clinical Managers, everyone plays a part in the Mariposa vision - the provision of outstanding person-centred care for individuals who happen to be living with additional health needs.

Our nursing homes provide 24-hour nursing led care for people who need an extra level of support. We also provide residential and nursing care for those with different types and stages of dementia, with staff who are highly trained in this specialist area.

Job Roles and Specialities

Regional Manager

Our Regional Managers work with Home Managers to provide leadership, direction, support and quality assurance for all care homes within a specified geographic area. Working as a critical part of the senior operations management team, they lead a programme of continual improvement within the services that fall under their remit, ensuring action plans are in place to meet compliance with regulatory standards.

Home Manager

Home Managers lead our care home teams to always strive for outstanding, person-centred provision. They have significant experience of embedding robust and effective care policies, procedures and quality assurance systems, and an expert understanding of standards of care and regulatory frameworks. If the role is also clinical, we would require our Home Managers to be an RGN or RMN with an active NMC PIN.

Clinical Lead

Clinical Leads work closely with Home Managers, assisting and deputising when needed to make sure our care homes meet all regulatory and compliance requirements. With significant clinical experience, they are also skilled at coaching and mentoring nursing and care teams to deliver care and support of the highest quality. Alongside an active NMC PIN, our Clinical Leads also have a health and social care qualification – Level 4 Lead Practitioner in Adult Social Care or Level 5 Leader in Adult Social Care – or equivalent, or a commitment to undertake further training relevant to the role.

Nurse

Nurses at Mariposa Care are expected to have significant clinical experience. Many of our nursing colleagues have a background working for the NHS or other clinical setting but have chosen to work in a care home for improved flexibility, promotion opportunities or an environment that offers the chance to provide greater continuity of care. We expect our nurses to maintain, update and build on their clinical expertise and knowledge, which we support with training and professional development programmes.

Clinical Care Practitioners

Clinical Care Practitioners work with the nursing team to support with clinical care, including the dispensing of medication and delivery of care plans. They act as mentors and supervisors to other care colleagues, and work alongside Clinical Leads on audits, compliance and continuous improvement action plans. We ask for a health and social care Level 3 qualification or equivalent and offer training programmes for our existing team members if this is an opportunity they would like to pursue.

Career Development

Every person at Mariposa plays a role in ensuring our residents are happy, well cared for and feel at home during their time with us.

From the very first day at Mariposa, you will begin your personal development journey with us. Thanks to a combination of face-to-face training, virtual workshops and e-learning, we’ll make sure you have everything you need to be confident, secure and competent in your role. We provide a comprehensive induction, and offer additional support and coaching should you need it.

As you continue your career with us, we encourage you to advance your qualifications to further enhance your learning, understanding and own personal development. We support apprenticeships and qualifications for all roles, from Level 2 to Level 5 in Adult Social Care related courses, and beyond.

We have an excellent track record of developing people already in our teams. From apprentices earning permanent positions to carers becoming Home and Regional Managers, we recognise the importance of progression and investing in your future.
