We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join a community mental health team in Mitcham. This full-time locum role offers a competitive pay rate of up to £30 per hour over an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse with expertise in crisis management, Clozapine monitoring, and community mental health to make a meaningful difference while working within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

What you will do:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care within the Clozapine and Depot Clinic, ensuring safe administration, monitoring, and follow-up of prescribed treatments.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate person-centred care for individuals experiencing severe and enduring mental health conditions.
  • Carry out comprehensive mental health assessments and provide effective crisis intervention where required.
  • Monitor patients receiving Clozapine treatment, recognising potential side effects and ensuring compliance with monitoring protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, GPs, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care.
  • Promote recovery, independence, and wellbeing through evidence-based interventions and ongoing therapeutic support.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with professional standards and organisational policies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, contributing specialist knowledge to support effective care planning and service delivery.
