You will play a crucial role by delivering high standards of clinical care and undertaking various responsibilities that ensure the health and safety of those in our care. What you will do:

  • Attend all calls as directed by the call centre, ensuring timely and effective response.

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments for individuals in custody.

  • Provide healthcare interventions for minor illnesses and injuries, referring serious cases when required.

  • Perform forensic examinations, including injury documentation and DNA evidence collection.

  • Assess and treat police officers or staff injured on duty.

  • Collect specimens in accordance with legal requirements.

  • Maintain compliance with PACE legislation Code C standards.

  • Provide written statements and oral testimony in court when required.

  • Maintain accurate and accessible clinical records.

  • Assess alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal.

  • Conduct mental health and learning disability assessments.

  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to enhance service delivery.

  • Maintain clinical competencies and adhere to forensic standards.

  • Promote equality, diversity, dignity, respect, safeguarding, and information governance policies.

  • Utilise the RADAR System effectively.

Person specification:

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) or Paramedic with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification (or 3 years depending on contract)

  • NMC or HCPC registration with venepuncture skills

  • Minimum of 3 years residency in the UK

  • Experience in settings such as A&E, ITU, EAU, SAU, or as a Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurse

  • Valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes
