What you will do:

• Deliver specialist neonatal care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for critically ill and preterm infants.
• Attend the labour ward to provide immediate resuscitation and stabilisation of newborns in emergency situations.
• Take charge of the neonatal unit or a defined caseload, coordinating staffing and clinical activities during shifts.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including paediatricians, midwives and external NHS partners, ensuring high-quality care and effective communication.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse or Midwife with current NMC registration.
• Postgraduate qualification in Neonatal Intensive Care or equivalent experience.
• Mentorship or Practice Assessor qualification is desirable but not essential.

Registration & Compliance:

• Maintain active NMC registration and adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct.
• Have a sound knowledge of UK safeguarding frameworks, clinical governance, and infection control standards.
• Demonstrate evidence of Continuous Professional Development and revalidation.
