The OrthTeam Centre (OTC) is an Outpatients and Diagnostic private facility which opened in September 2019. This exciting joint venture between OrthTeam Consultants and Spire Healthcare is an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to join a friendly team and be part of a developing Musculoskeletal service, including:

Orthopaedic, Neurosurgical and Neurological assessments
Peripheral nerve injury assessments
Pain Management
Sports and exercise medicine assessments

Sports cardiology assessments
3T MRI
Fluoroscopy guided injections
Digital X-ray
Diagnostic Ultrasound

Duties and responsibilities

The role of the Outpatient Lead Nurse is to provide leadership along with operational oversight for nursing services within the outpatient department. You will ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-focused care while leading, with the support of the Outpatient Manager you will be assisting in developing the outpatient nursing team. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities to maintain high standards of care and service delivery.
  • Lead and support the Outpatient nursing team, promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist the Outpatient Manager in coordinating staffing levels and clinic schedules to ensure safe and effective service provision.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members, supporting the Outpatient Manager with appraisals, training, and professional growth.
  • Provide clinical support and, where required, deliver direct patient care.
  • Ensure high standards of patient assessment, treatment, and health education.
  • Promote adherence to best practice, policies, and clinical guidelines.
  • Act as a role model, upholding professional standards and patient dignity.


Who we're looking for
  • Be NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Previous experience working in an outpatient environment is essential
  • Possess the mandatory training requirements for role, including infection control and health and safety competencies
  • Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to build effective relationships
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong teaching skills
  • Flexible approach to work and working patterns
