About the service
Townsville Hospital and Health Service is one of the largest healthcare providers in northern Australia, with Townsville University Hospital acting as the region’s tertiary referral centre.
The Ingham MGP is part of a BFHI-accredited service, committed to best practice maternity care and supporting midwives to work at the top of their scope.
About the role
As a Clinical Midwife – Caseload, you will:
- Provide continuity of midwifery care across pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatal care
- Manage a caseload of women within a low-risk model
- Work across hospital and community settings
- Collaborate with the broader multidisciplinary team and tertiary services
- Participate in an on-call roster as part of the MGP model
- Provide leadership, support and mentorship to colleagues
What you’ll need
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Midwife with AHPRA (Australia’s regulatory body)
- Midwifery qualification recognised in Australia
- Passion for continuity of care and woman-centred practice
- Willingness to develop skills in:
- Cannulation
- Water birth
- Perineal suturing
- Speculum examination
Support will be provided to develop these competencies.
