What you will do:

Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients with complex and sometimes undiagnosed conditions, developing and evaluating evidence-based care plans.
Deliver autonomous clinical care, recognising deterioration and escalating concerns appropriately within a secure setting.
Lead and contribute to nurse-led clinics (e.g., long-term conditions, substance misuse, minor illness) and coordinate ongoing care pathways.
Provide clinical leadership, supervision and mentorship to Band 5 nurses and support staff, acting as a role model for professional practice.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team colleagues, prison officers and external agencies to deliver holistic, integrated care.

Qualifications:

Registered General Nurse (RGN) or equivalent nursing qualification.
Evidence of post-registration professional development (such as mentorship, specialist courses).

Registration & Compliance:

Current NMC registration.
Knowledge of NMC Code, clinical governance frameworks and safeguarding requirements.
Understanding of relevant legislation including Mental Capacity Act and Equality Act 2010.

Experience:

Significant post-registration experience within primary care, acute, community, or custodial healthcare.
Experience working with complex patient groups, including mental health and substance misuse.
Demonstrable experience of supervising or mentoring junior staff.
Experience of multidisciplinary team working in a regulated healthcare environment.
