Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join the Emergency Department team in Guernsey. This permanent, full-time role offers the chance to work within a modern healthcare environment where patient care and professional development are highly valued. You will play a key leadership role within the Emergency Department, supporting the delivery of high-quality care while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the continuous improvement of clinical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes for individuals with complex care needs

  • Lead and support a team of healthcare professionals in emergency and acute care situations

  • Take charge of the Emergency Department when required and support service coordination

  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care

  • Mentor, supervise, and support junior staff and students to promote professional development

  • Participate in clinical audits, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Promote evidence-based practice and maintain high standards of clinical governance

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or eligibility to register

  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at Diploma level

  • Minimum of two years' recent experience working within an Emergency Care setting

  • Strong leadership
