The Grove Medical Centre are seeking a Practice Nurse to join the team on a full-time basis to support health promotion, chronic disease management, and treatment of minor illnesses.
Duties will include;
- Deliver routine nursing care
- Perform cervical screening (smears)
- Carry out immunisations and vaccinations (adult and childhood)
- Undertake health checks
- Monitor and manage long-term conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, hypertension)
- Conduct ECGs and other basic diagnostic testsAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Provide advice on general health, wellbeing, and disease prevention
- Support patients in managing chronic conditions
- Promote healthy lifestyle choices (e.g. smoking cessation, weight management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Use clinical systems to document consultations and care plans
- Ensure compliance with practice protocols and guidelines
- Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures
- Ensure safe storage and handling of vaccines and medications
- Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment
About the Candidate
All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience:- A relevant nursing degree
- Current NMC registration with an active PIN
- Previous experience of working within primary care
- Maintain NMC registration and adhere to the Code of Conduct
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Work collaboratively with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other staff
- Stay up to date with clinical guidelines and best practice
- Knowledge of SystmOne desirable
