Lead Nurse – North Bristol Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC)

Shifts: 8am–6pm, 4 days per week (37.5 hours) with flexibility required across a 7-day rota

Location: Our stunning, state-of-the-art Community Diagnostic Centre in Patchway, Bristol (BS34 5TL)

We're looking for an experienced and inspiring Lead Nurse to join our North Bristol Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) and play a pivotal role in delivering safe, high-quality and compassionate Endoscopy services.

You'll combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, helping to shape a high-performing service that consistently exceeds patient expectations.

About the Role

As Lead Nurse, you'll provide clinical leadership across the North Bristol CDC, ensuring the delivery of a safe, effective and patient-centred Endoscopy service. Working closely with the Regional Operations Manager and Unit Service Manager, you'll support the day-to-day running of the unit, champion quality and governance standards, and inspire your team to deliver outstanding care every day.

This is a varied and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to influence service development, drive quality improvement initiatives and develop a highly engaged workforce, while maintaining your own clinical practice within the unit.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and inspire the nursing team to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred Endoscopy services.
• Oversee daily clinical operations, ensuring compliance with governance, quality, JAG and CQC standards.
• Drive continuous improvement through audits, patient feedback, incident management and service development initiatives.
• Manage recruitment, workforce planning, staff development, performance and engagement activities.
• Maintain clinical practice within the unit while working collaboratively with operational and clinical leaders to achieve service objectives.

What We're Looking For

• A Registered Nurse (RN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with significant Endoscopy experience.
• A proven clinical leader with experience of managing, motivating and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of Endoscopy standards, clinical governance, patient safety, JAG accreditation and CQC requirements.
• A confident decision-maker who remains calm under pressure and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
• An excellent communicator with a passion for continuous improvement, quality and service excellence.

Note that this payment is not applicable to clinical staff working within the Echocardiography division, or Diabetic Eye Screening. The Weekend Payment does not apply to those on a flexible working agreement and part time workers that have requested to work weekend hours/days as part of their working agreement. The Weekend Payment also doesn’t apply to those who are working remotely or carrying out administrative work from home.
