Part Time Wards Administrator | Spire Murrayfield - Edinburgh | 22.5 hours per week Spire Murrayfield have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrator to support the Wards on a permanent basis. Duties and responsibilities: <ul> <li>Greet and receive patients, visitors and other members of staff to the wards in a polite and professional manner and to undertake general reception duties</li> <li>Answer the telephone and relay accurate messages as appropriate</li> <li>Maintain effective communications between patients, their relatives and the team within the department</li> <li>Escort patients from reception for admission. Explain the room layout and facilities, deliver post and newspapers</li> <li>Liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communications are maintained within the department</li> <li>Reports complaints or concerns to the Nurse in charge/shift leader</li> <li>Assist in the delivery and evaluation of care of patients admitted to the ward in accordance with Spire policies</li> <li>With due regard to risk management policies and procedures, participate in maintaining a safe environment for patients, relatives, carers and staff</li> <li>Ensure that patient notes are up to date and in correct order and are taken to the appropriate place be it coders or secretary when a patient episode is complete. Ensure that all filing of results and other information is accurately filed in the patient's notes</li> <li>Liaise with the all relevant department and the patient to ensure accurate data in the system (admissions, discharge and transfer of patients)</li> <li>Assist in orientation of new staff to the ward</li> <li>Assist with the ordering of ward/unit stores and undertake the ordering of all stationery ensuring availability at all times</li> <li>Taking and distributing accurate minutes for team meetings in a timely manner</li> <li>Update SAP with any augmented nursing care communicated by the nursing team to ensure transfer and charging details are updated</li> <li>Update SAP with extended length of stay communicated by the nursing team.
