Deputy Theatre Manager | Theatres | Full Time | Sheffield | Permanent | Competitive Salary Spire Claremont Hospital are looking for a Deputy Theatre Manager to Support the Theatre manager to lead their fantastic Theatre team on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week. Working as part of our theatre team you will be providing a caring support service to our patients, whilst leading a brilliant team. Spire Claremont Hospital has provided first-class independent healthcare at the heart of the South Yorkshire community since 1953. Our hospital is situated among beautifully landscaped grounds in Crosspool, Sheffield and it is situated 3 miles (about 20 minutes) to the south west of Sheffield city centre. Claremont Hospital has 42 beds, three laminar flow theatres, 13 consulting rooms, a static MRI and CT scanner, and plain and digital X-ray. The hospital provides surgery and outpatients with diagnostic imaging services. Duties and responsibilities: The Deputy Theatre Manager will deputise for the Theatre Manager to support in the provision of appropriate clinical and managerial leadership throughout the department. Maximising theatre utilisation, Consultant compliance and maintaining clinical standards, the post-holder will provide strong leadership and direction to all staff across the service and act as a point of contact for advice and expertise relating to professional issues. <ul> <li>Monitor and assist in the delivery of patient care </li> <li>Respect the patient's dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs</li> <li>Provide appropriate clinical and managerial leadership throughout the department</li> <li>Act as a role model and mentor to clinical staff providing advice and support to others to promote good practice consistent with legislation and Spire Healthcare's policies</li> <li>Encourage, develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self</li> <li>Identify, develop and support opportunities for improvements in operating department practices as highlighted through evidence, research based practice and national standards </li> <li>Delegate appropriate activities to other staff and ensure objectives are met</li> <li>To ensure that Clinical Governance and risk management are embedded within daily practice.</li> <li>Promote best evidence based practice within own scope of practice</li> <li>Apply and ensure others apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly</li> <li>Achievement of the theatre budget and specific Key Performance Indicators</li> <li>Work with others to optimise theatre utilisation in relation to booked operating sessions and availability to meet the demands of elective work, taking action with regards under-utilisation of lists as appropriate</li> <li>Manage staff rosters in the most efficient way to meet demand, whilst maintaining compliance with the Agency staff KPI on the Clinical Scorecard and balancing the use of overtime</li> <li>To ensure that effective systems are in place to manage stocks according to financial instructions, efficient utilisation, intelligent ordering and to work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure compliance with the above</li> <li>Ensure all audits/reviews of the departments and their performance are undertaken and implement action plans in response to findings</li> <li>Provide and receive patient information, ensuring that all patient information is provided, received and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire Policies.</li> <li>Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.</li></ul> Who we're looking for: <ul> <li>Registered Clinical Practitioner with NMC or HPC registration)</li> <li>Successful candidate must be flexible and be able to support the team with on call </li> <li>Must be able to work working hours between 7:30am - 9pm </li> <li>Relevant post-registration Theatre/Anaesthetic qualification</li> <li>Evidence of substantial CPD in management and other clinically related and relevant subjects</li> <li>Management or supervisory qualification</li> <li>Previous experience as a Senior Registered Practitioner within a Theatre Environment </li> <li>Ability to manage, motivate, support, develop and lead the department </li> <li>Expert knowledge of clinical practice</li> <li>Competent across a range of clinical skills supported by professional competence and knowledge</li> <li>Evidence of success in working in partnership with consultants to explore and challenge existing practices while maintaining and enhancing services and standards</li> <li>Demonstrable skills of financial aware</li></ul>
