Role Overview:
As a Ward Manager (RGN), you will provide strong clinical leadership and operational management for an inpatient ward. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care, ensuring safe staffing, regulatory compliance, and an excellent patient experience. Leading by example, you will inspire and support your team while driving service improvement in line with organisational objectives and CQC requirements.

What you will do:

  • Provide visible and effective clinical leadership, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centred care at all times.

  • Act as a clinical expert and role model for professional nursing practice.

  • Manage day-to-day ward operations, including staffing levels, rostering, and skill mix.

  • Lead recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, and ongoing development of nursing staff.

  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, organisational policies, and professional guidelines.

  • Lead clinical audits, incident investigations, and implementation of action plans.

  • Maintain excellent standards of infection prevention and control.

  • Manage ward resources efficiently, including budgets and supplies.

  • Monitor activity, bed utilisation, and patient flow, contributing to service and business development.

Salary range
