Description

Vet Nurse | Blackwood Vets | Part-time or Full-time
A busy, vibrant clinic, a genuinely supportive team, and a role where learning never stops.

About the Clinic
Blackwood Vets has been caring for pets and their families in the Blackwood community for many years and is proud to be a trusted local clinic in Adelaide’s south. We’re a close knit team of 3 veterinarians and 4 support staff – and Cedar, our much loved clinic cat and Customer Service Manager. Our clinic is well equipped and fitted out with modern equipment, and is busy practice offering small animal medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and preventative care. We combine advanced veterinary medicine with a gentle, understanding approach, aiming to keep every visit as stress free and positive as possible for both pets and their people.

About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate Vet Nurse to join our team in a casual role, with regular hours available and the opportunity to pick up shifts across other clinics in the VetPartners network. This is a varied, hands on role where you’ll rotate through reception, nurse consulting, and surgical support – with a clearly planned roster so you always know what your day looks like. If there’s a particular skill you want to grow, we’ll happily support that through targeted rostering and development opportunities.

What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting veterinarians across anaesthesia, surgery, and patient care
• Providing compassionate care and clear communication to clients and their pets
• Nurse consulting and assisting with preventative care and treatments
• Reception duties, including client interaction and patient admissions
• Confident anaesthetic monitoring and surgical assistance
• Keeping back of house operations running smoothly in a busy clinic
• Working across a planned rotation, with flexibility to focus on skill areas you want to develop
• Opportunity to work across other VetPartners clinics if desired

What We’re Looking For
• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Around 2 years of clinical veterinary nursing experience
• Confidence across general nursing duties, including anaesthesia and surgical support
• A genuine eagerness to learn, grow, and continuously improve
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes
• Warm, professional communication with clients (and their paw rents)
• A team first attitude and the ability to thrive in a busy, collaborative environment
