Please note, at this stage, the role is open only to internal staff (including NHSP and Agency staff currently on placement within our organisation) and staff substantively employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). The post holder will be responsible for managing the day to day running of Rivendell, one of six rehabilitation units across Kent which caters for ten clients with complex mental health and engagement difficulties.
The successful applicant will lead the nursing team and work closely with multi-professional team to provide intensive rehabilitation, promote recovery and instil hope into the lives of the service users access the service
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

- Maintain high standards of patient care under the direction of the Service Manager.
- Be professionally responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
- Maintain a supportive leadership profile for all Junior Staff and work collaboratively with medical staff and other health professionals supporting the delivery of patient care.
- Ensure that the well-being of patients, staff and visitors is paramount to the ward ethos.
- Support the strategic objectives of the Trust through maintaining adherence of staff and of self to all Trust Policies, and external audit requirements.
- Work on a supernumerary basis and to occasionally work night duties and weekends to be able to be fully aware and informed of the activities on these shifts

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
- Dip HE or degree
- Preparation of Mentors post registration qualification
- Additional post registration clinical training e.g. CBTp, BFT
- Management training/Edward Jenner Programme
Essential criteria
- Experience as Deputy Ward Manager/Team Leader or equivalent
- 3 years post qualification experience
- Experience supervising junior registered staff
- Line management experience
- Audit experience
- Previous rehabilitation experience

- Ability to performance manage junior staff, setting, evaluating and monitoring standards of care
- Implement a range of management strategies
- A comprehensive understanding and ability to apply principles of risk assessment and risk management
