We're looking for a Theatre Scrub Practitioner - Urology to join our Theatre team at The Harborne Hospital. Opened in January 2024, The Harborne Hospital is a £100 million, purpose-built, 50-bed private hospital located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Campus. With four state-of-the-art operating theatres, including a Hybrid Theatre, the hospital is equipped with the latest surgical technology and is recognised for its delivery of complex and innovative care, particularly in robotic-assisted and minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci system.

As a Theatre Scrub Practitioner within our Urology service, you'll work as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary theatre team supporting a wide range of complex urological procedures. Your role will be central to the safe and effective delivery of care, with a strong focus on robotic-assisted surgery. Day to day, you'll scrub for advanced procedures, prepare and maintain a sterile environment, and anticipate the needs of surgeons and colleagues throughout each case. You'll be working in an environment that values clinical excellence, teamwork and continuous development, with exposure to leading-edge techniques and the opportunity to build depth and confidence in robotic urology.

At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.

What you'll do:
  • Act as the scrub practitioner for a range of urological procedures, maintaining the highest standards of aseptic technique
  • Scrub confidently for robotic-assisted urological surgery using the da Vinci surgical system
  • Prepare and manage surgical instruments, equipment and the sterile field for complex cases
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide skilled support throughout procedures
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre colleagues to deliver safe, high-quality care
What you'll bring:
  • A current NMC pin or HCPC registration
  • Post-registration experience as a Scrub Practitioner within an operating theatre
  • Proven experience in robotic-assisted surgery, including the da Vinci system
  • A strong interest in urology and minimally invasive surgical techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
