Cancer nursing is a career that combines highly skilled clinical care with lasting patient relationships. It's a specialty where you'll support people through some of the most significant moments of their lives while continually developing your own expertise in complex and advancing treatments.

At The Wellington Hospital, we're looking for a Staff Nurse to join our specialist Oncology Unit. Whether you're already working within oncology or have experience in an acute medical, urgent care or emergency setting and are looking to build a career in cancer nursing, we'd love to hear from you.
This is an opportunity to work within one of London's leading private hospitals, caring for patients receiving some of the most advanced cancer treatments available. You'll be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team and benefit from a structured development pathway designed to help you grow your specialist knowledge and confidence in oncology.

Our Oncology Unit cares for patients across a range of cancer pathways, including gastrointestinal, breast and neuroendocrine services. You'll work alongside leading clinicians and specialist nurses, providing high quality, individualised care to patients receiving treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, PRRT, PSMA therapy, SIRT and other complex oncology interventions.

For nurses joining us from an acute medical background, we provide comprehensive training and support to help you transition into oncology nursing. This includes access to specialist education, mentorship from experienced oncology nurses and support to achieve your SACT competency, enabling you to safely administer systemic anti-cancer treatments and build a long-term specialist nursing career.

At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.

What you'll do

• Deliver safe, compassionate and evidence-based care to patients receiving specialist oncology treatments
• Recognise and respond appropriately to deteriorating patients, escalating concerns and supporting complex clinical decision making
• Work collaboratively with consultants, specialist nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide outstanding patient care
• Develop specialist oncology knowledge and clinical skills through structured training and competency programmes
• Support patients and their families throughout their treatment journey, providing education, reassurance and compassionate care

What you'll bring
• Current NMC registration
• A minimum of one to two years' post-registration experience within an acute clinical setting
• Experience caring for patients with complex needs and managing changing clinical conditions
• Confidence using NEWS, recognising deteriorating patients and escalating concerns appropriately
• Experience from areas such as acute medicine, medical wards, assessment units, oncology, haematology, urgent care, emergency care, AAU or AOS services would be highly valued

Previous oncology or haematology experience is welcomed but not essential. We're keen to hear from nurses who are passionate about developing a specialist career in cancer nursing and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

As part of HCA Healthcare UK, you'll benefit from structured career pathways, specialist education programmes and opportunities to progress into senior nursing, leadership or advanced practice roles.
