Staff Nurse - Cardiology
London: The Wellington Hospital
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: 8AM - 8.30PM / 8PM - 8.30AM(Mon-Sun) Days, Nights & Weekend rotation. Flexibility required.
Permanent contract
Salary: competitive (DOE) plus 9% shift allowance

We're looking for an experienced Staff Nurse with a background in Cardiology and/or Cardiothoracic Surgical care within an inpatient setting to join our Cardiology Ward at The Wellington Hospital, currently rated 'Good' by the CQC and the largest private hospital in the UK.

Our 20-bed specialist unit cares for a broad and complex case mix, with the majority of patients admitted for Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology, alongside a significant number of Hepatobiliary surgical cases and a smaller cohort of Neurosurgical and other specialist medical/surgical patients.

As part of one of the UK's most advanced private cardiac services, you'll be joining a team that delivers high-quality, evidence-based care to patients undergoing major cardiac and surgical interventions. You'll work closely with cardiologists, surgeons, and the wider multidisciplinary team to support recovery, optimise outcomes, and provide safe, compassionate care throughout the patient journey.

This role is both exciting and challenging. It requires strong clinical assessment skills, confidence in managing cardiac and post-operative patients. The Staff Nurse will work collaboratively with the MDT to deliver high-quality and innovative nursing care in line with HCA's mission, vision, and national guidelines and standards across cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery.

What You'll Bring
  • NMC-registered nurse with experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, or acute surgical nursing.
  • Strong clinical assessment and rhythm interpretation skills.
  • Experience caring for post-operative or high-acuity patients.
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
