Spire Methley Park are looking for an experienced plastics/cosmetics specialist nurse to join the friendly team in the Outpatients department. This role is 23hrs per week and is a permanent position, with excellent development opportunities. You will be available to provide service Monday - Friday.
Spire Methley Park Hospital situated in Methley in South Leeds, has recently completed a 7.6 million refurbishment, which included a new theatre equipped with cutting-edge technology enabling us to carry out complex surgery across a variety of clinical specialties. Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for providing a range of support services to the Nurses and Consultants during minor procedures
- Running own nurse led clinics
- Be the point of call for patients undergoing plastic surgery
- Be a part of the patient's full journey from pre-assessment to surgery to post discharge follow up
- Responsible for ordering garments required for the speciality
- Champion wound care post plastic surgery
- Give advice to patients perioperatively
- Maintenance of quality care delivery and documentation
- Liaising and networking with other departments across the hospital
- You will actively promote best practice and contribute towards quality improvements
- You will work closely with plastics consultants
- Chair plastics governance meetings
- You will be required to attend all theatre procedures within the first 3 months of the role
Who we're looking for
- Be NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
- Nursing degree certificate
- Experience in running own clinics
- Wound care/plastic surgery related training
- Compassionate and able to showcase excellent patient care
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong communication skills
- Able to carry out wound dressings and educate patients
- Plastic Surgical Ward experience desired
- Insight into the role evidenced on the supporting statement
