|

Job overview

§ To act as an effective professional role model, leading, co -ordinating, supporting and teaching all members of the team.

§ To be accountable for the provision of excellent nursing care and to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

§ The post holder will be expected to contribute to the strategic development of the Neuroradiology Service.

§ They will be recognised as an expert in their field holding additional specialist knowledge and experience

When the Pain Clinic was relocated to St George’s, it was accompanied by an experienced nurse and subsequently integrated within the Neuroradiology service. Over time, several nurses have supported the delivery of Pain Clinic services; however, one member of staff sadly passed away, and the remaining nurses have since retired.

The departmental workload has continued to grow significantly. The introduction and expansion of the thrombectomy service have further increased operational pressures, resulting in a substantial rise in clinical demand across Neuroradiology.

In view of the sustained service growth, increasing complexity of caseloads, and the need to maintain high‑quality patient care, it is both timely and necessary to reinstate this post. Re‑establishing this post will support safe service delivery, enhance workflow efficiency, and ensure the department is adequately resourced to meet current and future clinical requirements.
