Senior Staff Nurse - Chemotherapy Day Unit
Location: Leaders in Oncology Care (LOC), 81 Harley Street, London
Working Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits

We are looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our Chemotherapy Day Unit at Leaders in Oncology Care (LOC), based at the prestigious 81 Harley Street. As one of London's leading specialist cancer centres and rated Outstanding by the CQC, this unit offers a uniquely dynamic and clinically rich environment.

Across LOC sites, we deliver a wide range of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, supportive treatments and venesection. However, 81 Harley Street is the only unit that also supports patients undergoing radiotherapy, thanks to our on-site radiology department. It is also the only location within our network that performs cross matching and blood transfusions, with other sites referring patients to us when these interventions are required. This creates a broader clinical scope and offers Senior Staff Nurses exposure to more complex and varied oncology care.

The unit is designed to support safe, efficient and personalised treatment delivery, with a total of 13 chemotherapy chairs across the Day Unit, plus 2 ambulatory chairs for minor or supportive treatments. This structure allows nurses to work closely with patients, providing high-quality care while maintaining manageable caseloads.

Daily responsibilities extend beyond administering chemotherapy. Nurses carry out unscheduled crossmatches, respond to unwell patients, take bloods prior to treatment, and provide essential patient education. Many of our patients have CVADs (Central Venous Access Devices), so confidence in central line care is beneficial - although full training can be provided. Candidates with a completed and consolidated SACT passport are particularly well-suited, as this reflects strong knowledge of systemic anti-cancer therapy and the ability to educate patients effectively.

This role is not only clinically rewarding but also a genuine leadership opportunity. As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will guide and support the team on shift, set high standards of practice, and act as a role model for junior colleagues. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate complex treatment pathways in a safe and compassionate environment. In the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse, you will step up to lead the unit, further developing your autonomy, confidence and management skills.

At HCA UK, we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver exceptional care. We care that you're looking for a career to be proud of. And we care about your wellbeing at work - offering a range of benefits and a supportive environment that lets you thrive.
