Priory Hospital Ayr Clinicis looking to recruit a Senior Staff Nurse to join the team.This is a full time role of 37.5 hours including a £5,000 welcome bonus for when you join us.
Based in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, Priory Hospital Ayr Clinic is a low secure service for males and females with a mental health diagnosis and/or a personality disorder. We can support people from all over the UK. Lochlea House and Gatehouse are two stepdown services located in Ayrshire which are part of Ayr Clinic also.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse with 6-12 months of post-registration experience, holding an active NMC Registration and having completed a preceptorship or equivalent programme. They will possess a sound knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices, along with evidence of continuing professional development. The individual will demonstrate a positive attitude, commitment to change, improvement, and quality, as well as the ability to adopt flexible and innovative approaches to practice. Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills are essential, alongside IT literacy. Additionally, the candidate should have 6-12 months of post-registration experience within Mental Health or Learning Disability Nursing, supported by evidence of continued professional development in the relevant field.

- Deliver prescribed care to a defined group of patients/Service users that reflect their individual needs
- Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse. This includes the evaluation and review of these plans, with the patient/Service User, on a frequent basis, that is reflective of their needs
- Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team
- Build relationships and effectively communicates and engages with external professionals and stake holders
