Starrycare is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Mental Health Nurse (Band 6) to join the Integrated Mental Health Team within prison settings across Staffordshire and Worcestershire.
<\/p>

The post holder will manage their own caseload, delivering specialist mental health assessments, care planning, and evidence -based interventions to service users within the prison environment. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary and multi -agency team, supporting primary care, wellbeing, and secondary mental health services while promoting recovery -focused and person -centred care.

Key Responsibilities
<\/h3>
  • Manage a complex caseload of service users with mental health needs
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Conduct mental health assessments and develop care plans within the Care Programme Approach (CPA) framework
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Deliver specialist interventions including counselling, CBT -informed approaches, and motivational interviewing
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Liaise with prison healthcare, substance misuse teams, probation, police, and external agencies
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Support and supervise junior staff where appropriate
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Maintain accurate electronic clinical records in line with NMC standards
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Work within the Mental Health Act and safeguarding frameworks
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Promote recovery, harm reduction, and service user involvement
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Contribute to audit, service development, and clinical governance
    <\/p><\/li><\/ul>
    <\/div><\/span>

    Requirements<\/h3>
  • Registered Nurse (NMC Registered – Mental Health)
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Significant experience working within mental health services
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Experience managing complex caseloads
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and safeguarding procedures
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Experience delivering specialist mental health interventions (e.g. CBT, Motivational Interviewing)
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Ability to work autonomously within a secure prison environment
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
    <\/p><\/li>
