RMN Staff Nurse
Department: Nursing
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Priory Hospital Dewsbury
Compensation: £32,593 - £37,211 / year
Description
Priory Hospital Dewsbury
£32,593 - £37,211 per annum.
Full Time
Priory Hospital Dewsbury has an opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team.
Based in the residential area of Earlsheaton, West Yorkshire, Priory Hospital Dewsbury provides level 2 rehabilitation services divided into two wards. Care is for male patients who have mental health disorders and we also offer neuropsychiatry support, support for older people and dementia, community-focused rehabilitation, and support for severe and enduring mental health.
Although Dewsbury is not a 24/7 acute hospital, we are well-placed to provide support to acute patients within our dementia services, for those who require an alternative setting to an acute psychiatric ward. Admissions can also take place due to other placement breakdowns (either from their home or other care environment), or from prison settings.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
What you'll bring to the team
Essential for the role
You will be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration, a completed preceptorship programme, and at least 6-12 months' post-registration experience within an eating disorder unit. You'll have a good understanding of NMC standards, professional practice and safeguarding requirements, alongside a commitment to continuous professional development.
The following experience would be beneficial
Working within an eating disorder or mental health setting. You'll have strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centred approach, enabling you to build positive relationships with patients, families and colleagues. You'll also demonstrate a positive attitude towards change and quality improvement, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
What we will give you in return
We want you to succeed at Priory and thrive in your role. You will be well supported with regular career conversations. We also offer full training and numerous pathways into leadership and qualified clinical positions to help you shape your career with us.
