We are searching for a proactive and skilled Registered Physical Health Nurse to join our team in Newark at The Farndon Unit. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility for weekends.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate and implement tailored physical healthcare plans to maintain the optimum well-being of service users.
  • Ensure the completion of routine and ad hoc tests such as blood screenings and document results in Care Notes.
  • Lead the development of care plans, ensuring clear interventions are in place to meet physical health needs.
  • Support the clinical team on the ward and fill in staffing gaps as required.
  • Organise and record ECGs as prescribed by the Consultant.
  • Provide training and ensure compliance with nasogastric tube feeding prescriptions and updated care plans.
  • Contribute to weekly ICR meetings with insights on physical healthcare plans.
  • Chair the hospital's healthy living group, promoting topics such as obesity, smoking cessation, and exercise on a monthly basis.
  • Serve as the infection control lead, offering advice and education across clinical and non-clinical areas.
  • Conduct clinical audits and emergency drills.
  • Facilitate workshops on physical healthcare best practices.
  • Coordinate timely immunisations, including flu and routine childhood vaccinations.
