Are you an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse looking to make a real difference within a unique environment? We are seeking a skilled and resourceful Prison Cleared Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic team within a prison mental health setting in Lincoln. This is a permanent full-time position with 37.5 hours per week, offering an hourly rate between £27.00 and £37.00. You’ll be stepping into an exciting role that plays a pivotal part in delivering vital mental health services to individuals in custody. What you will do:

• Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, care planning, and evaluation for individuals in custody, including those under the Care Programme Approach (CPA).
• Conduct detailed risk assessments relating to self-harm, suicide, and risk to others, implementing appropriate management plans.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions and crisis response for acute mental health presentations.
• Administer and monitor medications in accordance with NMC standards and local policies.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, GPs, psychologists, substance misuse teams, and prison staff to coordinate care.

To be successful in this role, you must hold a degree or diploma as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a valid NMC registration. Previous post-registration experience in mental health nursing will equip you well to manage complex mental health needs within a secure setting. An understanding of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and NHS clinical governance frameworks will be vital. It is essential to have prison security clearance or the willingness to undergo this process.
