Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join the Theatre / Day Surgery Department in Gibraltar on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-operative assessments, including reviewing medical history and preparing patients for surgery.

  • Assist during surgical procedures as a scrub nurse, maintaining strict sterile technique.

  • Monitor patients during post-operative recovery, including vital signs and medication administration.

  • Collaborate with senior clinical staff and multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans.

  • Participate in training and educational programmes to maintain clinical standards.

  • Ensure high standards of patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care.

Main Duties

  • Prepare the operating theatre with necessary instruments and surgical supplies using aseptic techniques.

  • Monitor patient safety during procedures and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

  • Provide post-operative education and discharge guidance to patients and families.
