Description
Priory Highbank Centre is looking to recruit a Registered General Nurse with experience in Neuro and Complex Care to join the team.This is afull time role of 37.5 hours and you will be required to work a regular shift pattern over a 7 day period including weekends and Nights on a rotational basis.

Based in Bury, Greater Manchester, Priory Highbank Centre is a Neurorehabilitation service for adults. It provides residential support for males and females with acquired brain injuries (ABI), progressive neurological conditions (PNC), and associated complex physical health needs, including those with complex respiratory requirements such as tracheostomies and mechanical ventilation.

Our team is dedicated to delivering holistic, person-centred neurophysical and cognitive rehabilitation, alongside complex neurodisability management, in a safe and homely environment. We offer a range of services that promote physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychological wellbeing.

Our service users also receive neurorehabilitation for conditions such as:
  • Acquired brain injuries
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Post neurosurgeries
  • Neurodegenerative conditions
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Diffuse multifocal brain injuries
  • Strokes



What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents
  • Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
  • Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
  • Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
  • Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team
  • Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings and attend other meetings as requested
  • Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately and effectively within the shift co-ordination Framework, working as nurse in charge as required, ensuring as far as reasonable practicable a safe environment.
  • Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests, enquiries and suggestions.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least Monthly.
  • Respects and applies the requirements of diversity and inclusion, promoting and role modelling these across the team.
  • Supervises a defined group of team members and contributes to their overall CPD, mandatory training and appraisal process recognising the skills required across the team. This will also include addressing any performance issues that are below the expected standard.
  • Engages in collaborative problem solving, supporting and encouraging clients to take ownership of issues, identify problems and to develop solutions to them based on their own needs and preferences.
  • Is named nurse for a small group of patients, and associate nurse when required when on duty, and is a regular shift leader.
  • Provides Clinical Supervision to a group of defined nursing/ care staff.
  • Undertakes additional roles for the site as champion, as agreed with the line manager.

We are looking for an experienced RGN to work as a Senior Nurse in a Neuro rehabilitation facility for adults ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for service users their families and visitors. You will have experience post registration within in the speciality, including complex care management and skills.
  • Active Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council, meeting the requirements of Revalidation
  • An effective member of the Multi-Disciplinary team.
  • Promotes the best interests of the clients and carers and ensure that prescribed nursing care is effectively implemented.
  • Exercise professional accountability and responsibility using professional skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments and work within the scope of professional practice.
  • Good communication and computer skills to ensure that risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment and that statutory requirements are met.
