Role purpose

To deliver safe, effective, and person-centred nursing care within a custodial setting, in line with NHFT policies, NMC standards, and prison service requirements. The post holder will address the physical and mental health needs of prisoners while maintaining security, ethical practice, and professional boundaries at all times.

What you will do

  • Deliver holistic nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Undertake physical health assessments, chronic disease management, wound care, medication administration, and health monitoring.

  • Respond effectively to acute presentations and medical emergencies within the prison environment.

  • Promote health and wellbeing through tailored health promotion and preventative interventions.
