Role Purpose
As part of the mental health team, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care to individuals within a secure prison environment. Your role is vital in promoting mental wellbeing, supporting rehabilitation, and contributing to a safe, therapeutic, and structured custodial setting.
What You Will Do

Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments on reception and throughout custody, identifying risks and forming tailored care plans.

Deliver a wide range of evidence-based interventions, including medication administration, therapeutic support, and psychoeducation.

Play a key role in risk management and safeguarding, ensuring safety through adherence to prison security protocols.

Work collaboratively with prison officers, GPs, psychologists, substance misuse services, and external agencies to deliver integrated care.

Oversee and contribute to safe medication management and prescribing processes.

Respond to mental health emergencies, providing crisis interventions and de-escalation where required.

Maintain accurate documentation in line with professional, legal, and institutional standards.
Salary range
