Practice Nurse - Nottingham (NG16)

£21.52 to £24 per hour (DOE) | 21 to 25 hours per week | Monday, Thursday and Friday | Free parking

A GP Practice in Nottingham (NG16) is looking to recruit an experienced and highly competent Practice Nurse to join its supportive clinical team on a part time basis.

This is a great opportunity for a confident and proactive Practice Nurse with strong primary care experience who is comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Working as part of the nursing team, you will provide high quality patient care across a range of clinical and practice responsibilities, including:

  • Wound care and dressing changes
  • Routine and travel vaccinations
  • Long Term Condition reviews, including asthma, COPD, diabetes and hypertension
  • Cervical screening
  • Infection control audits and action planning
  • PGD compliance and use
  • Vaccine stock management and cold chain maintenance
  • Travel vaccination forms and stock control
  • Data logger monitoring
  • HBPM reviews, scanning and follow up actions
  • Vaccine fridge temperature checks and escalation
  • Legionella checks
  • Clinical room stock management and replenishment
  • Pathology results and sample processing
  • Emergency drugs and equipment checks
  • General practice nursing duties as required


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current NMC registration
  • Significant experience working within general practice/primary care
  • Experience carrying out cervical screening
  • Experience with vaccination programmes and cold chain management
  • Ability to independently manage Long Term Condition reviews
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention and practice governance
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team


Desirable Criteria

  • Cervical screening
  • Spirometry
  • FeNO


Working Pattern

21 to 25 hours per week, working:

  • Monday: 3pm to 8pm
  • Thursday and Friday: between 8am and 6:30pm, with hours to be discussed

A set weekly commitment will be agreed within the practice's opening hours.
