Occupational Health Adviser - Newcastle

Location: Newcastle NE8 - fully site based
Salary: £43,588-£51,719 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, full time

OH Medical is recruiting an experienced Occupational Health Adviser to join an established in-house team in Newcastle. This is an opportunity to deliver a varied clinical service, build strong working relationships and support the health and wellbeing of a safety-critical workforce.

Working onsite, you will provide face-to-face assessments and practical advice to employees, line managers and HR.

The Role

• Deliver health surveillance, fitness-for-work assessments and management referrals.
• Manage sickness absence cases, advising on fitness for work, workplace adjustments and return-to-work support.
• Produce clear, accurate Occupational Health reports.
• Support and supervise Occupational Health Technicians to maintain high service standards.
• Maintain confidential employee health records in line with professional and data protection requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team, contributing to service reporting and improvements.

What We're Looking For

• A Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
• A recognised Occupational Health qualification, such as a diploma, degree or MSc.
• Recent experience in health surveillance and Occupational Health case management.
• Strong clinical assessment, report-writing and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a team.
• Good IT skills and an understanding of confidentiality and GDPR.
