About the Role

We are seeking two experienced and proactive Nurse Unit Managers to join our residential aged care leadership team on a permanent full-time basis.

These are newly created positions as part of an organisational restructure, providing an exciting opportunity for the successful candidates to help shape the role, develop their teams and influence the way care is delivered within their areas.

Doncaster Melaleuca Lodge (DML) – 60 Beds

The DML Nurse Unit Manager will lead a 60-bed high-care residential aged care service, supporting residents with high physical care needs and generally lower cognitive complexity.

Cassia – 90-Bed Facility

The Cassia Nurse Unit Manager will oversee two units comprising a total of 60 beds within the 90-bed residential aged care facility.

Both roles report directly to the Clinical Care Manager and provide a combination of clinical leadership and operational management. The roles offer the opportunity to remain hands-on while leading teams and strengthening clinical practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership to deliver safe, high-quality resident care
  • Lead, supervise and support RNs, ENs and PCWs.
  • Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act, SIRS, AN-ACC and organisational requirements
  • Act as the key clinical leader for residents, families, GPs and allied health providers
  • Oversee care planning, clinical assessments, documentation and medication management
  • Monitor and respond to clinical incidents, adverse events and complaints
  • Lead clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support staffing coordination, skill mix and workforce capability
  • Coach, develop and provide performance feedback to team members
  • Participate in the on-call roster with the Clinical Care Manager (approximately 1 week in 4)


Skills And Experiences
  • About You

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior clinical or aged care leadership role
  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Strong knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, SIRS, AN-ACC and clinical governance
  • Proven leadership and team management capability
  • Experience in high-care residential aged care
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage clinical complexity in a high-demand environment
