You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Consultants, Podiatrists, Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants, providing high-quality, patient-centred care in both outpatient and theatre settings.

Main Duties of the Job
Demonstrates safe and effective practice within the scope of the Associate Practitioner role
Assist with pre-operative assessment and prehabilitation
Undertake wound care and redressing’s Support patients throughout their surgical journey
Participate in theatre duties, including circulating and scrub roles
Work collaboratively within a dynamic surgical team
All training will be provided, subject to meeting essential criteria.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Nursing Associate has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the field of surgical services, providing holistic and person-centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of registered professionals, working within the sphere of nursing and podiatric surgery. Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate and will work to the NMC Code and Standards for Nursing Associates. The following criteria identify the core components of the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of Nursing Associates. They identify what Nursing Associates can contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients and service users and apply across all health and care settings. Integral to all of these is the ability to communicate effectively, with sensitivity and compassion, and to manage relationships with people, making reasonable adjustments where necessary. They will be able to communicate effectively across a wide range of channels and with a wide range of individuals, the public, health and social care professionals, maintaining the focus of communication on delivering and improving health and care services. They will work with the team delivering care; they will be aware of the different roles within the team and understand their role within it. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder may be required to work anywhere within the hospital or community setting.Important - Once sufficient applications have been received this vacancy may close early.
Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
It is the policy of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust who require DBS clearance for the post they have been offered, are required to pay the cost for their DBS certificate. The method of payment for this is via salary deduction from your first month's pay on commencement with the Trust. The DBs check will be undertaken during the pre-employment check screening.
Qualifications
Please note the essential qualifications required for the post are outlined within the Person Specification. You are required to provide original evidence of the necessary qualifications for the post at interview should you be shortlisted. You will also be required to provide original copies as part of the pre-employment check screening.
New Starters – Probationary Period
For any new employees commencing employment with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, you will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period. Please note that internal applications and individuals that are appointed to fixed term appointments of less than 6 months duration are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or a bank member of staff).

Working Hours
If the hours advertised for the post are up to full time (37.5 hours per week), applications are still welcomed from individuals who may be seeking to work less than full-time hours and all requests will be considered in line with the post being appointed to for the successful applicant.
