Staff Nurse (RGN) – Night Shifts

£22.40 per hour | 36 Hours per Week | 8:00pm–8:00am | Permanent

This purpose-built nursing home provides warm, individualised care for older adults with a range of nursing, dementia, palliative and complex care needs. We're specifically looking for an experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a nursing home background and strong hands-on clinical skills. You'll need to be comfortable managing the responsibilities that come with night nursing, including responding to changes in residents' conditions and making confident clinical decisions.

What We’re Looking For

• Active NMC registration as an RGN is essential.
• Recent nursing home experience is required.
• Applicants must have strong clinical skills and experience with a range of nursing interventions.

Alongside your nursing home experience, you'll ideally be confident with:

• PEG feeding and PEG care
• Catheter care
• Wound assessment and wound care
• Syringe drivers
• Electronic care planning and clinical record systems

Your Role

• Deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred nursing care throughout the night.
• Manage residents with a range of complex nursing and healthcare needs.
• Administer medication and clinical treatments safely in line with NMC standards.
• Provide PEG, catheter and wound care as required.
• Support residents receiving palliative and end-of-life care, including the appropriate use and monitoring of syringe drivers.
• Complete clinical observations and recognise signs of deterioration or changes in residents' conditions.
• Respond confidently to clinical concerns and escalate appropriately when required.
• Complete and update person-centred care plans, risk assessments and clinical documentation.
• Maintain accurate records using the home's electronic care systems.
• Provide clear and comprehensive clinical handovers.
• Maintain residents' dignity, comfort and individual choices throughout your shift.
