Community Psychiatric Nurse - Band 6 - Harlow, UK - Earn up to £27.50 per hour Hourly
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to join a dedicated team in Harlow. With this locum position, you will initially commit for 12 weeks, with flexibility in working part-time hours: Monday to Wednesday 9-5 and a half-day on Thursday. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will actively contribute to the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care for service users. What you will do:
- Provide comprehensive care management, overseeing the care of service users.
- Document all activities accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining professional standards.
- Conduct thorough assessments and formulate personalised care plans, involving service users’ families and support networks.
- Attend weekly multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing actively to discussions and plans.
- Administer and manage medications, including assessing side effects and ensuring effectiveness.
- Educate service users about their conditions and prescribed medications to prevent relapse and support recovery.
- Conduct risk assessments of both individuals and their environments and report any incidents.
- Lead the development of evidence-based care packages based on NICE guidelines.
- Provide practical support and guidance to service users and their carers.
- Supervise lower banded staff, fostering their professional growth.

Requirements of the Community Psychiatric Nurse:
- Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing with NMC Registration.
- Proven experience working as a Mental Health Nurse.
- Competency with mental health nursing needs assessments and risk evaluations.
- Experience in providing psycho-social interventions.
