We have an exciting opportunity for Forensic Medical Examiners (FMEs) to join the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) service in Bournemouth. We are currently recruiting two SOE Doctors (FMEs) on a temporary ongoing basis with an immediate start available. What you will do:

• Conduct forensic medical examinations in accordance with current clinical, forensic, and legal protocols.
• Provide compassionate, trauma-informed medical care and support to individuals attending the Sexual Assault Referral Centre.
• Collect, preserve, and document forensic evidence to the highest professional and evidential standards.
• Prepare detailed, accurate medico-legal reports and provide expert witness evidence where required.
• Work closely with police, forensic teams, crisis workers, and other partner agencies to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Maintain confidential, comprehensive, and legally compliant clinical records.
• Participate in an on-call rota, attending the Bournemouth SARC site within 60 minutes when required.
• Provide flexible cover for a minimum of two shifts per week, including day, night, weekend, and on-call shifts.

Requirements:

• Qualified Medical Practitioner eligible to work as a Forensic Medical Examiner (FME).
• Current National Police Vetting or Dorset Police Vetting (essential).
• Enhanced DBS Certificate.
• Ability to attend the Bournemouth SARC location (BH1 1QQ) within 60 minutes.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call duties.
• Excellent communication, clinical assessment, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience within forensic medicine, sexual assault services, emergency medicine, or related specialties is highly desirable.
