Deputy Nurse Manager (RGN/RMN)

£50,000 per year | Permanent | Good CQC-Rated Nursing Home

This is an opportunity for an experienced Deputy Nurse Manager who wants to remain close to clinical care while playing a key role in the leadership, quality and development of a well-established nursing home.

Providing high-quality residential, nursing and dementia care, this Good CQC-rated home is set within peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The environment has been thoughtfully designed around the needs of older adults, creating a comfortable and welcoming place where residents can feel at home while receiving the individualised support they need.

Working alongside the Home Manager, you'll provide strong clinical and operational leadership across the service, supporting nursing and care teams while ensuring consistently high standards of care, compliance and resident wellbeing.

What We're Looking For

  • Active NMC registration as an RGN or RMN.
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Nurse Manager within a nursing home is essential.
  • Strong experience supporting older adults with nursing and dementia care needs.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge and confidence overseeing complex care.
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding and clinical governance.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing nursing and care teams.
  • Confidence with care planning, medication management, risk assessments and clinical audits.

Your Role

  • Work closely with the Home Manager to support the effective day-to-day running of the nursing home.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nurses and care colleagues.
  • Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate and genuinely person-centred care.
  • Oversee care plans, risk assessments, medication management and clinical documentation.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality dementia and nursing care across the home.
  • Monitor clinical standards through audits, observations and quality assurance processes.
  • Coach, mentor and develop colleagues, promoting a positive and accountable team culture.
  • Support safeguarding, incident management and continuous quality improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC requirements, NMC standards and clinical governance procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and external healthcare professionals.
  • Deputise for the Home Manager when required and provide leadership across the service in their absence.
