As Deputy Nurse Manager, you'll work a mixture of clinical and supernumerary hours, giving you the opportunity to remain closely involved in resident care while supporting the Home Manager with clinical governance, team development and the overall quality of the service.

We're looking for an experienced senior nurse who already understands the demands of leadership within a nursing home and can confidently support both clinical standards and day-to-day operations.

What We're Looking For

• Active NMC registration as a qualified nurse.
• Previous senior nursing experience within a nursing home is essential.
• Applicants should have experience at Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager level or above.
• Strong experience supporting older adults living with dementia.
• Excellent clinical knowledge and confidence overseeing complex nursing needs.
• Strong understanding of CQC requirements, safeguarding and clinical governance.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop nursing and care teams.
• Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
• A calm and professional approach with a genuine commitment to person-centred care.

Your Role

• Support the Home Manager with the clinical and operational leadership of the nursing home.
• Work a combination of supernumerary and clinical hours, maintaining a visible presence across the service.
• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nurses and care colleagues.
• Monitor care plans, risk assessments, medication management and clinical documentation.
• Ensure residents living with nursing and dementia care needs receive safe, individualised and compassionate support.
• Coach and develop staff, identifying training needs and promoting consistently high standards of practice.
• Support clinical audits, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures and clinical governance requirements.
• Build strong relationships with residents, relatives and external healthcare professionals.
• Deputise for the Home Manager when required, ensuring the smooth and effective running of the service.
