Description
Are you a passionate RMN ready to step into a leadership role where your clinical expertise genuinely transforms lives? Cragston Court is looking for a warm, confident, and inspiring Clinical Lead / Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team and help shape the future of our 20 bed mental health rehabilitation service.

This is a full time role of 37.5 hours with occasional work from home opportunity.

Located in Blakelaw, Newcastle upon Tyne, Cragston Court is a nurse led rehabilitation service supporting adults with enduring mental health conditions to rebuild independence and move toward community living. Our team is known for being compassionate and committed to helping people thrive in their day to day lives. We support individuals stepping down from hospital or stepping up from the community, offering structured, personalised rehabilitation pathways.

What you'll be doing
As our Clinical Lead / Deputy Manager, you will be at the heart of the service, providing strong clinical leadership, supporting the nursing team, and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, recovery driven care.

You will:
  • Lead and inspire the nursing team with confidence and compassion
  • Oversee clinical standards, risk management, and care planning
  • Support day to day operational management alongside the Service Manager
  • Ensure safe staffing, effective rota management, and a positive team culture
  • Drive quality improvement, governance, and CQC compliance
  • Work closely with our MDT, families, and external partners
  • Step up as Deputy Manager when required, contributing to inspections, reporting, and service development

What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

Essential
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
  • Strong post registration experience in mental health
  • Understanding of recovery models, CQC standards, and clinical governance
  • Confident leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Desirable
  • Experience in mental health rehabilitation
  • Previous senior nurse, clinical lead, or deputy management experience
  • Leadership or management qualification (or willingness to complete one)
  • Experience supporting CQC inspections or service improvement initiatives
