Suffolk Primary Care are seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to join the team based at Combs Ford Surgery on a part-time basis for 15 hours per week. You will be required to travel to each of our practices, that are based in Framlingham, Debenham, Ipswich, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Brandon & Newmarket.
The purpose of this role is to deliver safe, high quality, patient-centred clinical research across Suffolk Primary Care (SPC), as a member of our dedicated and growing Research Team.
The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of research protocols and their application in practice, working closely with GPs, practice teams, sponsors and research partners to deliver a diverse portfolio of commercial and non-commercial studies across a range of therapeutic areas.
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Providing high quality, patient-focused clinical research across Suffolk Primary Care
- Identifying and screening potentially eligible research participants
- Providing clear, appropriate information and support to patients and participants
- Undertaking study recruitment, informed consent and participant enrolment in accordance with study protocols and GCP
- Supporting high levels of participant retention and engagement
- Coordinating study visits, treatments and interventions as required by individual protocols
- Undertaking clinical assessments, observations, blood sampling and other research procedures as required
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical and research documentation, including electronic case report forms and study records
- Working collaboratively with Principal Investigators, practice teams, sponsors, CROs and other research stakeholders
- Travelling between SPC practices as required to support recruitment and study delivery.
About the Candidate
All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience: Essential:- NMC Registered Nurse (Adult Nursing*) - *Paediatric/immunisation experience is an advantage for upcoming studies
- Clinical experience at Band 5 or above
- Experience in Primary Care or Research desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Accurate and confident with clinical documentation, data collection and electronic systems
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a small dedicated team
- Willingness to travel to all practices across SPC for patient recruitment
Desirable:
- ICH GCP training desirable, or a willingness to undertake GCP and associated NIHR training
