About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager on a permanent full-time basis to lead a 60-bed high-care residential aged care service at Doncaster Melaleuca Lodge (DML).

This newly created role reporting directly to the Clinical Care Manager of the facility, provides clinical leadership and operational oversight in a service supporting residents with high physical care needs and generally lower cognitive complexity.

As a key member of the Residential leadership team, the Clinical Nurse Manager will play a vital role in ensuring safe, high-quality care delivery, compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, AN-ACC, SIRS, and organisational policies.


This role offers a mix of clinical and management shifts, allowing you to remain hands-on while leading service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and clinical leadership in the delivery of safe, high-quality, resident-centred care
  • Lead, supervise and support Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Workers
  • Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act, SIRS requirements, AN-ACC obligations and organisational policies
  • Act as clinical leader within the allocated unit for residents, families, GPs and allied health providers
  • Oversee care planning, documentation, clinical assessments and medication management
  • Monitor and respond to clinical incidents, adverse events and complaints
  • Lead clinical audits, quality improvement activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support staffing coordination, skill mix and workforce capability development
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback and staff development opportunities
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture and resident-focused care environment
  • Participate in on-call roster with the Clinical Care Manager (approx. 1 week out of 4).

Skills And Experiences

About You

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior clinical or aged care leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, SIRS, AN-ACC and clinical governance frameworks
  • Proven leadership and team management capability across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in high-care residential aged care (essential)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage clinical complexity in a high-demand environment
