Description
Priory Hospital Newburyis looking to recruit a Mental Health Nurse to join the team.

Priory Hospital Newbury, located Berkshire, is a level 2 rehabilitation service which supports male adults with mental health needs, who are working towards a life back in the community.



What you'll be doing
You'll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, supporting with care requirements, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
  • Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
  • Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
  • Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
  • Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration, 6 to 12 months of post-registration experience, and completion of a preceptorship programme. They will have knowledge of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices, along with evidence of ongoing post-registration continuing professional development. The candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, a commitment to change, improvement, and quality, and the ability to develop and apply flexible, innovative approaches to practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, supported by at least six months of post-registration experience within a mental health or learning disabilities care environment and evidence of continued professional development in the relevant field.
