What you will do

• Conduct initial mental health assessments for individuals entering the prison system to identify any immediate needs.

• Provide short-term intervention services during the first two weeks of custody to support mental health stability.

• Manage your own caseload, including assessments, care planning, and intervention delivery.

• Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care.

• Offer specialist mental health interventions, using approaches like CBT and motivational interviewing.

• Participate in the Early Days in Custody model, focusing on timely support and continuity of care for service users.

• Engage in clinical governance and adhere to legal and professional guidelines.

• Provide education and training to students, staff, and service users to promote mental health awareness.
