What you will do:

  • Undertake comprehensive mental health and risk assessments for children and young people presenting in crisis, ensuring to include safeguarding considerations.
  • Provide evidence-based, short-term interventions aimed at stabilising mental health and reducing risk of harm or hospital admission.
  • Contribute to crisis care planning, safety planning, and discharge pathways through collaboration with young people, families, and your multidisciplinary team colleagues.
  • Work in partnership with external agencies, including social services, schools, GPs, and acute hospital teams, to ensure integrated and coordinated care delivery.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Children’s Nurse with relevant mental health experience.
  • NMC Registration: Active and in good standing.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to CAMHS.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989/2004, Mental Health Act 1983/2007, and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Understanding of NHS safeguarding frameworks and clinical governance standards.
