About the role

We are recruiting a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join the Forensic Team within Specialist Mental Health Nursing services in Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity to work with individuals who are at risk of offending due to mental health needs, supporting recovery while promoting public safety.

The role is county-wide, based out of Unither House, Chertsey, and involves working with a mixed caseload of clients living in the community, as well as engagement across a range of settings which may include locations outside the county. You will work collaboratively with criminal justice partners and mental health services to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.

What you will do

• Undertake specialist mental health assessments across a variety of settings, including police stations and magistrates' courts.

• Manage and contribute to the care of a forensic community caseload, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies.

• Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of care plans and risk management strategies.

• Liaise with criminal justice partners including police, probation services, solicitors, and courts, providing professional advice and mental health expertise.
