What you will do:

• Deliver excellent nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopy services, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Perform pre-assessment activities, prepare patients appropriately, and monitor their recovery post-procedure.
• Assist Endoscopists during various procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and therapeutic interventions, ensuring smooth operations.
• Administer medications, sedation, and intravenous therapies in line with NMC standards and local protocols.
• Identify and manage patient deterioration effectively, escalating issues swiftly when necessary.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

• Hold a Registered Nurse (Adult) qualification with current registration from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
• Demonstrate evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Immediate Life Support (ILS) qualification is advantageous.

Experience:

• Experience working as a Registered Nurse within an NHS or equivalent healthcare setting.
• Previous experience within endoscopy, gastroenterology, surgical, medical, or acute care environments is desirable.
• Experience supporting patients through invasive procedures and recovery pathways.
