Are you an experienced Registered Nurse ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Join Western District Health Service as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) at Coleraine, where you'll work alongside the Nurse Unit Manager to lead a dedicated team and ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

This role is ideal for a nurse who combines strong clinical expertise with a passion for leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement. As an integral member of the unit's leadership team, you will help guide staff, support service excellence, and contribute to positive outcomes for patients and the community.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our committed clinical team, you’ll provide safe, respectful, and person-centred care across:

Clinical Leadership & Care Excellence —

Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff, ensuring person-centred care is planned, implemented, evaluated, and maintained to the highest standard.

Team Leadership & Support —

Foster a positive and collaborative team environment by mentoring, guiding, and supporting staff in their professional practice and development.

Unit Management & Operations —

Work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager to support the effective day-to-day operation of the ward/unit, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.

Acting Nurse Unit Manager Responsibilities —

Assume the responsibilities and authority of the Nurse Unit Manager during periods of absence, including oversight of clinical and administrative functions.

Quality Improvement & Projects —

Take accountability for designated management portfolios and participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects that enhance patient care and service delivery.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement —

Develop strong relationships with patients, families, colleagues, and multidisciplinary team members through effective communication and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

Professional Practice & Development —

Maintain advanced clinical knowledge and skills while promoting evidence-based practice and continuous professional development within the team.

What You Bring

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of 2 years' post-graduate nursing experience
• Demonstrated clinical leadership and decision-making capabilities
• Advanced clinical knowledge and nursing skills
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning
• Ability to support, motivate, and lead a multidisciplinary team
• Experience contributing to quality improvement initiatives and service development
• Sound organisational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
