Key Responsibilities
- Independently assess, diagnose and manage patients of all ages presenting with minor illness and/or minor injury.
- Undertake comprehensive history taking, clinical examination and clinical decision-making.
- Prescribe medications (where independently prescriber qualified) and issue appropriate treatments, advice and safety-netting.
- Request and interpret relevant investigations within local guidelines.
- Refer or escalate to secondary care, GPs or other services when clinically indicated.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team (GPs, nurses, HCAs, reception staff).
- Adhere to local clinical pathways, infection control, safeguarding and governance standards.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience in a fast-paced walk-in / urgent care environment.

Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse (NMC) or other eligible professional with current registration.
- Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Clinical Practitioner (or equivalent).
- Independent Prescriber (V300) – essential.
- Significant post-registration experience in primary care, urgent care, minor illness or emergency care.
- Competent in the autonomous management of minor illness (and minor injury for Leeds roles).
- Excellent clinical decision-making, communication and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-volume environment.
- Up-to-date mandatory training, DBS and professional indemnity.

Desirable
- Experience working in Walk-in Centres, UCCs or similar settings.
- Minor injury skills (suturing, wound care, X-ray interpretation, etc.) for Leeds UCC shifts.
- Previous locum experience.

Working Arrangements
- Flexible locum shifts available across Wakefield Walk-in Centre and multiple Leeds Urgent Care Centres.
- Competitive hourly rates of £45–£50ph.
- Supportive clinical environment with access to senior clinical advice when required.

If you are an experienced ANP/ACP looking for flexible, well-paid locum work in minor illness and urgent care settings across West Yorkshire, we would like to hear from you.
